Nazlah Hassan, founder of Egemstudio, believes that gifting uplifts the human spirit — and that everyone deserves access to meaningful, artisan-crafted jewelry.

As founder of the former nonprofit Gift Children Books, Inc., Nazlah and her team distributed more than one million free, high-quality books to children in Arizona and New York — with no major sponsors or corporate funding, only faith, determination, and the steady support of community.

She witnessed the transformation firsthand: parents sharing how their child's reading level soared, children selecting books with wide-eyed wonder. Those moments continue to affirm a simple truth: gifting uplifts the human spirit.

Craft & Technique

What began as a quiet practice — collecting beads, stones, and found materials — evolved into a lifelong creative expression. Nazlah began crafting jewelry in small, intentional batches, often to gift. Over time, her collection grew into something extraordinary.

Today, her work reflects Afro-centric, eclectic, and traditional influences — featuring natural materials, vintage elements, and repurposed pieces. Each design carries a story of resilience, artistry, and connection.
